Long time...

| Hi Everyone!
It’s been a long long time since I have posted anything here. Sorry about that! I have just been so busy with everything. So what have I been doing? Well, my mom and dad had some work done to the house, so I have spent countless hours trying to sniff the construction workers´ butts. I have also been swimming in the pool. Well, actually I fell in when my dad was walking around it holding a sandwich - I guess all my attention was on the food! By the way - some say that Pugs can’t swim, but I realized then and there (in the pool, that is) that I actually can!
Well, that’s all from me for now. By the way, the photograph above was taken by my grandmother, who was here visiting me for a few days! I think I look pretty cool and dangerous... What do you think?

| My favorite pastime is to relax! This might be the reason I have gained a few extra pounds since last year… But they say that Pugs are supposed to be chubby, so I do not really mind!

| Hi again... After playing with my somewhat smelly grapefruit (see previous post) and running around like crazy, barking at my girlfriend next door and at all the birds I could hear, I finally decided to take a nap in the sun... This was truly a great November day! By the way, I am soooo looking forward to X-mas – I already have a pair of reindeer horns that I will wear for the occasion! Will post a pic of me all dressed up later…

Here is a photo of me and my "fake friends"... FYI: I’m the one in the middle! I actually got very upset the first time I saw them and it took me a while to realize that they were not dangerous at all... But I still think they look kind of weird.

| I just want to tell you that I have been training for the Olympics today... well, not really but I have been running around like crazy and honestly, I don’t think either Carl Lewis or Michael Johnson would have beaten me (not even during their glory days). Even though I have gained a pound or two this summer, the added weight doesn’t seem to slow me down. In fact, I strongly believe that my new “love handle” gives me even more POWER…

New human friends...

| Guess what? I got two new, awesome friends last week, Henke and Pai. They were here on vacation. Henke was a really nice guy, who liked beer – a lot! He also liked to chase me around the house. I got so excited that I almost turned into a flying meatball! Phuuu! I think I probably lost a few pounds just trying to keep up with him. Pai was also a lot of fun but he didn’t chase me, so I tried to get his attention by using his toothbrush instead. Well, I did not really use it – I just chewed on it for a while until it was really wet and had my teeth marks all over it. He said that he didn’t mind, but he never used that toothbrush again. I do not know why. I mean, everybody knows that a dog’s mouth is cleaner than a human’s…

My neighbor is a murderer?

| Hi! I hope that all of you are having a great summer. I am. And I am crazy about my new backyard. However, a few weeks ago I made a gruesome discovery. I found a dead bird in the flowerbed. I am sure that my neighbor – a huge gray cat – had something to do with that bird’s untimely death. Unfortunately, I did not have time to examine the corpse for more than a few minutes before my mom put on some huge rubber gloves and threw it away. By the way, that cat is trouble. A few nights ago he actually broke into our house. I was sleeping on the couch and did not actually see him (even though he was walking just a few inches away from my button-nosed face), but I have been told that he was here. I guess that proved that I am not really the best guard dog in the world… but I surely one of the cutest…

| Hi there! I have to tell you some really great news. I have moved to a place with a backyard. Now I can run around like crazy, sniff flowers and weird stuff and do my “business” pretty much anywhere I like (except for on the terrace and against the flower pots - they are off limits, according to my mom). My new neighbor is a German Shepard. We talk (or maybe I should say bark like crazy at each other) every day and even though I have only seen her pretty head through the fence, I bet that we will become really great friends some day – if she doesn’t make a snack out of me first, that is!

| I learned a new trick last week – all by myself. Or actually, I think I thought my mom and dad one. This is how it works: Every time my parents try to take me out for a walk, I simply hide underneath the bed in the master bedroom…And guess what happens? Yep, that’s right. Within a few minutes I get a few treats. First they toss some treats underneath the bed to get my attention. Then they place a few treats next to the corner of he bed, so that I will crawl out to get them. In the end, I am happy because I got a little snack. And they are happy because they can finally take me outside… This must be what people call a win-win situation.

| I have some great news. Last week I got a new best (human) friend. His name is Sam and he loved playing with me, even though I turned his black pants into somewhat of a fur ball. In fact, we had so much fun together that when the evening came I was so tired that I fell asleep on the couch with my paws straight up in the air… I really hope he will come and visit me again some day…

The diet worked!

| Good news everyone! I have finally lost some weight and I am now ready to show off my new beautiful body at the beach this summer! And what body it is! Imagine, in just a few months I have been able to shred about 1.5 pounds, that not bad for an otherwise “heavy & hungry” Pug!

My visit to the vet...

| My mom took me to the vet last week because I had a strange rash in my "armpits" and on my front legs – a rash that I just could not stop licking no matter how hard I tried. The vet did a skin scraping on poor little me. Whiiiiiii…the vet actually had to scrape the skin until she could get at drop of blood that she could analyze. Imagine that! But I was a “real trooper” and I actually think cutting my nails is a lot worse. My vet did not find any mites or other nasty parasites on me, but she gave me a shot, some medication and some ointment and I feel much better already (except for the fact that the medication makes me pee – A LOT!)

| I hope that all of you have had a great weekend! I spent mine in front of the laptop, surfing the Net! I guess that’s why people call us Pugs “lap dogs”. Just kidding... I didn’t do anything special at all this weekend, but I will probably go to the vet later this week. I’ve gotten a strange rash in my armpit (or maybe it is called legpit on dogs…?) that my mom wants the vet to check out...

| It has been raining a lot here lately, so I have spent most of my time relaxing on the couch. I hate rain. In fact, if I have to go out when it is raining, I usually just pretend to pee and then I try to head back home again. Unfortunately, my parents have figured this and I now have to stay outside with them until I have done “my business”. It’s not easy to be a Pug sometimes - but it is pretty great most of the time :)

| I have just been out playing with my best friend Otto – a French bulldog with lots of energy and a squashed-in face – just like mine! Together, we smelled lamp posts, trees, weird stinking spots on the lawn and each others butts – of course! (After all, we are dogs and that’s what dogs do, right?)
By the way, got my nails cut again. I did not struggle a lot this time, so the whole thing was over in less then a few minutes. However, I have now realized that I get more treats afterwards if I struggle a lot when the vet cuts my nails, compared to if I do not struggle at all…and that can’t be right!

| Some people might think that the Global Warming problem doesn’t bother me, since I’m “only a Pug” and all. But it actually does (mainly because I have to go out and do “my business” every day - no matter what!). Let’s face it; the weather has been kind of strange lately. Fierce storms, lots of rain, immensely hot summers and mild winters… need I say more? This “weather thing” has also prompted my mom to dress me up in different outfits. This one was for a windy day in December!
Until then - contribute to the solution, not the pollution!

| I tried to get away, but they found me under the kitchen table and I finally had to take that bath. I know that I look pretty unhappy in the photograph, but it was not as horrible as I thought it would be. In fact, I got lots of treats afterwards so it was actually worth it!

| I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve certainly had a very busy week. I’ve been to the vet to get my rabies shot and since I do have a few extra pounds, I did not feel a thing. I got my nails done too, but that was no walk in the park, if you know what I mean. The weather has been really nice here, so I’ve been up in the mountains running around, sniffing weird stuff and doing what dog do. My mom is training me not to bark at big dogs anymore, so we have walked around a lot just to train me... It’s a lot of fun, so I guess I will not stop barking for a while, since that will probably mean that we will train some more…

Super Bowl on the Beach…

| I hope that all of you have had a great weekend and that you are enjoying this Super Bowl Sunday! I’m not really a football fan so I spent the day at the beach instead. It was great! I got to play in the sand, dip my paws in the ocean and just run around like a “crazy person” – well, not really, but you know what I mean! | Time flies. It’s already Tuesday – and what a lovely day it is. The sun shines and all is good. I met my friend Otto the other day. He is a French bulldog and still only a puppy. We had a bunch of fun. We played a lot, but then he started chewing on some rocks that we found near a construction site, so his mum took him home… By the way, my mum has made meatballs today, so I have spent most of my time in the kitchen, waiting for her to drop something really tasty on the floor… And as they say: Good things come to those who wait!

| It is Monday again, but you know what – that doesn’t matter for me! I do everything I want to do anyway. I sleep in. I eat breakfast. I go for a nice walk. I take a nap, or two, or three and then I might eat some more before it is time for one more nap and some quality time with my stuffed animals – “the cow”, “the turtle” and “rope-man”. Seriously, I don’t get it? Why do people complain about Mondays – I mean, it’s like any other day of the week, right?

| I hope all of you are having a great weekend! I went to the vet last week. I got my nails cut (which I hate) and I got my anal glands squeezed too. I didn’t smell like a rose after that, so when I got back home I had to take a bath. I do like water, but the best thing about taking a bath is jumping on all the furniture afterwards. Believe me, I always try my best to get everything in the house as wet as I am… And I always succeed!

| My name is Buddy, but my mum and dad usually call me “Monster” (maybe because I act like one sometimes). I will write stuff here from time to time to tell you a little about my life as a Pug.
I was born in the outskirts of Los Angeles, but I live in Spain now. In my new Spanish hood some people had never seen a dog like me, so they sometimes asked if I really was one…How rude! Anyway, I do like it here and I even have a new girlfriend. She is half Pug, half French Bulldog and really cute.
Well, I have to go. My mum is taking me to the vet. I will get my nails done and my anal glands squeezed. I will give you an update about that next time…but I can tell you right now – I’m not looking forward to it!
